Fred’s Heating and Air

The company at a glance

Company overview

Fred's Heating and Air lists residential heating and cooling repair, maintenance and replacement from its La Vista base. The website also presents ductless systems and indoor-air equipment, including humidifiers and dehumidifiers. Omaha, Bellevue, Papillion, Elkhorn, Gretna and Council Bluffs appear in its published service area.

The company gives 8817 South 117th Street and 402-895-3030. BBB identifies the same business at that address, adding Suite 500, and matches its phone and domain. Both sources identify residential HVAC work. The website describes a repair-first approach and says its technicians are not paid sales commissions; those are company statements, not independently audited employment findings.

Turn a repair-first discussion into a documented choice

Ask the technician to explain what failed, what was checked and what a repair would include. If replacement is also proposed, request separate written options so the costs and assumptions remain visible. A homeowner does not need to decide from the age of the equipment alone or from a broad promise about a new system.

For each option, identify the equipment involved, any related installation work and how operation will be checked afterward. Discuss parts availability, scheduling and the terms applying to labor and equipment. If an air-quality accessory is proposed, ask what specific household concern it addresses and how its maintenance differs from routine HVAC service. Keeping the diagnosis, optional improvements and replacement scope separate makes the company's stated approach something the homeowner can assess in the actual proposal.

Questions to ask

• What findings support the repair option and any replacement alternative?
• Which parts, labor and operational checks are included?
• Which accessories are optional, and what maintenance do they require?
