Company overview
W.F. Smith describes a locally owned family business serving Philadelphia, Bucks County, and Montgomery County. Its residential work includes installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance for air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and ductless systems. The company lists Lennox and Mitsubishi Electric among the equipment brands it offers, while the matched BBB record identifies W.F. Smith Inc. at its Philadelphia address. Both the website and business record date the company's history to 1946. Its mix of conventional and ductless options gives homeowners several system approaches to discuss during a consultation.
Compare how each system would serve the rooms
If a proposal includes ductless equipment or a change in heating type, ask how it will work alongside any retained system. Have the contractor explain the room-by-room intent, the placement of equipment, and the controls that occupants will use. A clear proposal also identifies electrical, drainage, and finishing work that may fall outside the equipment installation itself.
Questions for the first conversation
- Which rooms and comfort needs inform the proposed system design?
- How will new equipment interact with any retained heating or cooling?
- What supporting electrical, drainage, and finishing work is included?
