Van Martin Roofing

The company at a glance

Company overview

Van Martin Roofing serves southwestern Ohio and lists Dayton-area offices including Dayton, Huber Heights, Vandalia and Xenia. Its official service menu covers roof repairs and replacement, gutters, siding and skylights. It also lists standing-seam and stone-coated metal roofing, giving homeowners more than one material category to discuss.

The company’s main Dayton listing uses North Springboro Pike. The independent BBB record reviewed for this profile identifies the Taylorsville Road branch, which also appears on the official site. The business name, website and main telephone number align. Confirm the office responsible for your property when booking an assessment.

Define the boundaries of the roof proposal

A roof leak can raise questions about several exterior components. Ask the estimator to identify the observed defect and explain how the proposed work addresses it. If the scope includes a skylight, gutter or wall connection, have that component named in the written proposal rather than assuming it comes with the roof.

For replacement work, compare the complete assembly and installation scope, not simply the shingle or metal-panel name. Request an explanation of removal, disposal, protection of the property and how unexpected conditions will be priced. Keep optional exterior upgrades separate so a broader service menu does not obscure the immediate repair decision.

Questions for the site visit

• What findings support repair rather than replacement, or the reverse?
• Which roof penetrations and adjacent components are included?
• How will additional work be photographed, priced and approved?

Ask who handles follow-up and obtain the actual warranty terms for both materials and workmanship. Discuss any access or scheduling constraints before choosing a start date. Confirm which location will coordinate the crew and receive questions during the job.
