MLM Custom Homes & Renovations

The company at a glance

Company overview

MLM Custom Homes & Renovations describes residential renovation work across Greater New Orleans and South Louisiana. Its services include whole-home changes, kitchens, bathrooms, additions and historic-home renovations. The official website publishes 504-322-7050 and says it uses Buildertrend for progress photographs, budget and schedule tracking and project communication.

BBB lists MLM Incorporated at 1400 Distributors Row in Elmwood, with the same phone and official domain. Its record also uses New Orleans as a postal locality for that address. The distinctive name, domain and phone support the operating-business match. This profile uses Elmwood as the independently listed base and does not convert company-selected project photos into independent project verification.

Distinguish a progress update from approval to change the work

A project portal can keep decisions visible, but the contract should explain how approval works. Ask which messages are informational, which request a decision and what constitutes authorization for a change in price or schedule. Request a consistent record of the revised scope before added work proceeds.

For a historic-home project, describe what the homeowner wants to retain and ask who coordinates any required review and design documentation. The company advertises that type of coordination, but requirements depend on the particular property. Clarify who supplies drawings, obtains approvals and handles revisions if an initial proposal changes. Before construction begins, establish the update frequency, the main contact and the documents that will be available at handover. That gives the homeowner a practical way to evaluate MLM's published communication process.

Questions to ask

• How is a formal change approval distinguished from a routine portal message?
• Who coordinates property-specific design and review requirements?
• Which schedule, budget and completion records remain available after handover?
