Jacksonville, Florida
The company at a glance
Company overview
American Electrical Contracting publishes residential electrical coverage in Duval, St. Johns, Clay, and Nassau counties. Its services range from repairs and panel work to remodeling, rewiring, lighting planning, EV charging, and generators. The independent business record identifies its Philips Highway location in Jacksonville. The company also describes coordination between its design-build and electrical contracting departments. For a homeowner planning a major renovation, that combination provides a useful starting point for discussing the placement and operation of lighting and power before construction details are settled.
Plan lighting around how the rooms will be used
Bring the proposed room layout and describe the activities each space needs to support. Ask how fixture locations, switching, controls, and receptacles will be shown on the plan. Clarify what equipment is included and what the homeowner must select or supply. Review the drawings before rough-in so that the installation team and household work from the same decisions.
Questions for the first conversation
- How are lighting, controls, and receptacles shown on the plan?
- Which fixtures or devices are owner supplied?
- When must the final layout be approved before rough-in?
